WILD FLOWERS OF THE MANI
This volume is a comprehensive guide to the wild flowers of the Mani Peninsula in the Southern Peloponnese. It contains photographs and descriptions of more than 930 flowering plants, trees and ferns all of which can be found in the Mani. By eliminating any plants not occurring in the region the process of identification is simplified since there are more than 5,800 plant taxa in the whole of Greece. Each plant is illustrated with at least one photograph which is accompanied by a brief description. Botanical terms are used as necessary but there is a glossary of terms and diagrams to explain the meaning. The text also contains a key to identifying the main plant families, photographs of the different habitats in the Mani and information about the climate, vegetation and geography of the area. A bibliography of useful books and information on on-line resources are also included.
Format: 160mm x 235mm portrait, 262 pages, hard cover, full colour, profusely illustrated. Published October 2016.
(This volume can be purchased on-line through Amazon and NHBS, locally in shops in the Mani and from various booksellers in Europe)
