Family Ramphastidae – Toucans, Toucanets & Aracaris
Members of this family are brightly marked and have large, often colourful bills. They are arboreal and feed mostly on fruit although they will take insects or small birds. Toucans are native to the Neotropics from Southern Mexico, through Central America, into South America and south to northern Argentina. The family contains 5 genera with 43 species.
